For trusts and local authorities: One live view of every school.

From April 2027, Martyn’s Law is expected to put a duty on the governing body of every school in your area where 200 or more people can be on site, and each one will discharge it differently. Today you have no way to see whether any of them could run a lockdown tomorrow. Command Centre gives you that view: every school on a map, every drill on record, and every emergency as it happens.

What you see.

Three views, and the answer to “are we ready” stops being a survey you have to send.

Every school, now

A map of your estate, the schools needing attention, and which are live on OnSite.

Command Centre’s live incident view for a lockdown drill at a demo primary school: started 09:10, the whole school, 236 of 236 people accounted for, and nobody from the council has taken the lead yet

Any emergency as it unfolds

When it started, whole school or one site, and the roll call as it is reported. An officer can take the lead so the school knows who is acting.

A year of drills

Last drill by school, by type, and whether each school is on track.

What you never see.

You see rooms, numbers and times. You never see a pupil list, and you never see anything about sign-in, attendance or the school’s day to day. You do read the school’s emergency messages, which are typed by staff in the moment, and staff are told that you read them.

Whose duty is it?

It depends on what you are, and the answer is not the same for a trust and a council.

If you are a multi-academy trust

The duty is the trust board’s, legally and directly. Command Centre is how the board sees whether every school in the trust could discharge it, without asking each one in turn.

If you are a local authority

The duty mostly sits with each governing body rather than with you. Your interest is assurance and consistency: knowing which schools are ready, and being able to show that you knew.
