Getting set up — 6 guides
-
Get the app on your phone
Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android), search for GroupEd Parent, and tap Get or Install.
Look for this icon — the GroupEd Parent app. Tapping it opens the app once it’s installed.
-
Open your invite from school
Your school sends you an email invite. Find it in your inbox and tap the button inside. Can’t see it? Ask the school office to send it again.
-
Choose a password
Pick a password you’ll remember. That’s how you’ll sign in from now on. You only do this bit once.
-
Pop in your security code
The first time you sign in, we’ll send you a short code to check it’s really you. Type it in, then tick Remember this device so you won’t be asked again on your own phone. You can switch it back on any time in Settings.
-
Say ‘yes’ to notifications
When the app asks to send you notifications, tap Allow. This is how the school reaches you — so you never miss a thing.
-
Choose your language
Tap Settings and pick from 20 languages, including Cymraeg. Every message then arrives in the language you choose.
- 1Open the app and tap Messages.
- 2Tap a message to read the whole thing.
- 3If the school asks a question, tap Reply to answer.
- 1Tap Payments.
- 2Choose what to pay for: dinner money, a trip or a club.
- 3Enter the amount, pay by card, and keep the receipt.
- 1Tap School shop.
- 2Add what you need to your basket.
- 3Check out and pay, and the school gets it ready.
- 1Tap Activities.
- 2See what’s on and what your child has joined.
- 3Tap one to sign up or pay, if there’s space.
- 1Tap Report absence.
- 2Choose the day and the reason: poorly, an appointment, and so on.
- 3Send it, and the school office sees it right away.

Your school manages the information the app shows, so the school office is the quickest fix. Once they update the record, the app follows automatically.
If the new school uses GroupEd, they’ll send you a fresh invitation when your child joins — nothing to set up yourself.
Yes. Your child’s information belongs to the school and is held securely — it’s only ever shown to the people the school authorises. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
